Armenia reaches first Nations League Finals
Armenia reached the Nations League Finals after beating the Faroe Islands on Tuesday.
The victory means Armenia will play in League B next season and will have a chance to qualify for the European Championship in 2024.
Armenia took the lead in the 13th minute when Tigran Barseghyan scored from the penalty spot.
The Faroe Islands equalised in the 56th minute through Jóan Símun Edmundsson, but Armenia regained the lead 10 minutes later when Vahan Bichakhchyan scored.
Artak Grigoryan made it 3-1 in the 70th minute and Kamo Hovhannisyan added a fourth in the 83rd minute to seal the victory.
Armenia's victory is a major achievement for the country, which has never qualified for a major tournament before.
The Nations League is a new competition that was introduced by UEFA in 2018.
The competition is designed to replace international friendlies and to provide more competitive matches for national teams.
The Nations League is divided into four divisions, with League A being the top division.
Armenia is currently in League C, but their victory over the Faroe Islands means they will be promoted to League B next season.
League B teams are guaranteed a play-off spot for the European Championship in 2024.
Armenia will be hoping to continue their good form in the Nations League and qualify for the European Championship for the first time.
