Armenia shock Faroes to top group
Faroe Islands 1-2 Armenia
Armenia came from behind to beat the Faroe Islands 2-1 in Torshavn on Sunday and go top of UEFA Nations League Group 2.
The Faroes, aiming to build on their impressive 1-0 win over Estonia in midweek, took a shock lead in the 31st minute when Klaemint Olsen curled in a free-kick.
But just eight minutes later Armenia were level, Vahan Bichakhchyan capitalizing on some poor Faroese defending to head in Henri Mkhitaryan's cross.
The visitors were in front 10 minutes after the break, Artak Dashyan volleying in the winner after a cross from the left.
The win means Armenia are now top of the group on six points from two games, two points ahead of the Faroes and Israel. Estonia are rooted to the bottom with no points.
Armenia will be looking to make it three wins from three when they host Israel in Yerevan on Wednesday. The Faroes, meanwhile, will be hoping to get back to winning ways when they travel to Estonia on the same day.
