Austria wins against Croatia in Nations League
Austria defeated Croatia 3-0 in the UEFA Nations League on Sunday.
Goals from Marko Arnautovic, Michael Gregoritsch, and Xaver Schlager secured the victory for Austria.
The match was played in front of a sold-out crowd at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna. Austria started the match brightly and took the lead in the 15th minute when Arnautovic converted a penalty.
Gregoritsch doubled Austria's lead in the 54th minute with a fine finish from outside the box. Schlager then sealed the victory for Austria with a third goal in the 87th minute.
The win was Austria's second in the Nations League and they now top Group C1 with six points from three games. Croatia, on the other hand, are bottom of the group with one point from three games.
Austria's victory is a significant boost for their hopes of qualifying for the Euro 2024.
The top team in each group will qualify for the finals, which will be held in Germany.
Austria's next match in the Nations League is away to Denmark on June 13. Croatia will host France on the same day.
