Commanders' Robinson, Lattimore won't play
Week 15 at Browns
Washington Commanders running back Brian Robinson and cornerback Kendall Fuller will not play in their Week 15 game against the Cleveland Browns, coach Ron Rivera announced Friday.
Robinson, the team's leading rusher, is dealing with a sprained MCL, while Fuller has a groin injury.
Antonio Gibson and Jaret Patterson are expected to start at running back, while Danny Johnson and Rachad Wildgoose will start at cornerback.
Robinson was injured in the Commanders' Week 14 loss to the New York Giants, and Fuller was injured in the team's Week 13 win over the Houston Texans.Robinson's injury
Robinson is the Commanders' leading rusher with 792 yards and seven touchdowns on 194 carries this season. He has also caught 26 passes for 214 yards and a touchdown.
Robinson's injury is a significant blow to the Commanders' offense, as he has been one of their most productive players this season.
Gibson is expected to start in Robinson's place, but he is coming off a disappointing performance against the Giants, in which he rushed for just 20 yards on 11 carries.
Fuller's injury
Fuller is the Commanders' starting slot cornerback, and he has played well this season, with 46 tackles, three interceptions, and 10 pass breakups.
Fuller's injury is also a significant blow to the Commanders' defense, as he is one of their best players in the secondary.
Johnson is expected to start in Fuller's place, but he is a rookie and has only played in three games this season.
The Commanders will be hoping that Robinson and Fuller can return to action soon, but for now, they will have to rely on their backups to step up.
