Filmmaker spent three years on project

Documentary to premiere at the Scranton Cultural Center on March 10

Scranton Eagles filmmaker John Payavis spent three years working on his latest project, a documentary about the city's legendary football team.

The film, titled "Scranton Eagles: A Legacy of Pride," chronicles the team's history from its founding in 1933 to its解散in 1991.

Payavis, a lifelong Scranton resident, said he was inspired to make the film after watching a documentary about the Green Bay Packers.

"I thought, 'Why doesn't Scranton have a documentary about its own football team?'" Payavis said.

Payavis spent three years researching and interviewing former players, coaches, and fans of the Eagles.

The film features interviews with some of the team's most famous players, including Mike Munchak, Steve Wisniewski, and Jerome Brown.

Payavis also interviewed former Eagles coach Jim Mora, who led the team to the 1983 United States Football League championship.

The documentary is narrated by Scranton native and actor Kevin Nealon.

Payavis said he is proud of the film and hopes it will help to preserve the legacy of the Scranton Eagles.

"The Eagles were a big part of Scranton's history," Payavis said. "I hope this film will help people to remember the team and its accomplishments.
