Jutta Leerdam Trains Hard in the United States, but One Thing Bothers Her: 'I'm Not Going to Lie'
Dutch speed skater Jutta Leerdam reveals her struggles with training in the United States.
Leerdam's concerns stem from the lack of technological advancements in US facilities.
Jutta Leerdam, a Dutch speed skater, is currently training hard in the United States in preparation for the upcoming season. However, despite her dedication, she has expressed some concerns about the training facilities in the US, specifically the lack of technological advancements compared to those available in the Netherlands.
In an interview with the Dutch newspaper "De Telegraaf," Leerdam said, "I'm not going to lie, it's a bit disappointing. The training facilities here are not as advanced as the ones I'm used to in the Netherlands. It's a bit frustrating, because I know that I could be training even better if I had access to the same technology."
Leerdam went on to explain that the lack of advanced technology is impacting her training in several ways. "For example, I'm not able to use the same high-tech suits that I'm used to in the Netherlands," she said. "These suits help me to improve my aerodynamics and speed. It's a small thing, but it can make a big difference."
Despite her concerns, Leerdam is determined to make the most of her time in the United States. "I know that I'm still in the early stages of my career, and I'm grateful for the opportunity to train here," she said. "I'm going to work hard and make the best of it."
Leerdam's concerns highlight the importance of having access to the latest technology in order to achieve optimal training results. It will be interesting to see if her experience in the United States leads to any changes in the way that speed skating is trained in the Netherlands.
