Biggest Night in Latin Music Celebrates Talent
The Latin Grammy Awards, the biggest night in Latin music, took place on November 16, 2024, at the Michelob ULTRA Arena at Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas. The ceremony honored the best in Latin music from the past year, with Karol G, Edgar Barrera, and Carlos Vives among the big winners.
Karol G, the Colombian singer-songwriter, won three awards, including Record of the Year for "Provenza" and Best Urban Song for "Cairo." She also won Best Reggaeton Performance for "Gatúbela." Edgar Barrera, the Mexican producer, won two awards, including Album of the Year for Pasieros and Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for Alex Cuba: Mendó."
Carlos Vives, the Colombian singer-songwriter, won two awards, including Song of the Year for "Pa' Olvidarte" and Best Tropical Song for "Cumbiana." He also won Best Vallenato/Cumbia Album for Cumbiana II.
Other big winners of the night included Christina Aguilera, who won Best Pop Vocal Album for Aguilera; Bad Bunny, who won Best Urban Music Album for Un Verano Sin Ti; and Rosalía, who won Best Alternative Music Album for Motomami.
The Latin Grammy Awards are presented by the Latin Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The awards are given in a variety of categories, including pop, rock, urban, and traditional Latin music.
