LSU Men's Basketball Showcases Newfound Resilience in Win Over Alabama State
Tigers Overcome Slow Start, Defensive Struggles to Secure Victory
In a thrilling display of newfound resilience, the LSU men's basketball team rallied from a slow start and overcame defensive struggles to secure a hard-fought 76-67 victory over Alabama State on Thursday night at the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
LSU's Offensive Surge in the Second Half
After trailing by as many as 12 points in the first half, the Tigers exploded offensively in the second half, shooting an impressive 55.6% from the field. Darius Days led the way with 21 points, followed by Trae Hannibal's 13 points and seven rebounds. LSU's improved ball movement and aggressive play in the paint allowed them to take control of the game.
Defense Tightens Up After Slow Start
Despite allowing Alabama State to shoot 50% from the field in the first half, LSU's defense tightened up significantly in the second half. The Tigers forced 10 turnovers and held the Hornets to just 33.3% shooting in the final 20 minutes, suffocating Alabama State's offense.
