Marshon Lattimore to miss his second game after being traded from Saints

Lattimore suffered a concussion in preseason

The Cleveland Browns will be without cornerback Marshon Lattimore for Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals due to a concussion, the team announced Saturday. Lattimore, who was acquired in a trade with the New Orleans Saints on Aug. 30, suffered the concussion in the Browns' preseason finale against the Chicago Bears.

Lattimore's absence will be a blow to the Browns' defense, which is already thin at cornerback with Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome II both dealing with injuries. The Browns will likely start rookie cornerback Martin Emerson Jr. in Lattimore's place.

Lattimore has been a Pro Bowl cornerback

Lattimore has been one of the NFL's top cornerbacks in recent years, earning three Pro Bowl selections and two All-Pro selections. He was a key member of the Saints' defense that reached the NFC Championship Game in 2019 and 2020.

The Browns are hoping that Lattimore can return to the field soon and help them improve their defense, which has been one of the worst in the NFL this season. The Browns are 0-2 after allowing 60 points in each of their first two games.
