Memphis Beat UNLV behind Kendric Davis' 23 points and 12 assists
Tigers improve to 2-0, while Rebels fall to 1-4
Davis also has seven rebounds for Memphis, while Kaleb Hunter leads UNLV with 19 points
No. 22 Memphis picked up a 92-78 win over UNLV on Wednesday night at the FedExForum behind a 23-point, 12-assist performance from Kendric Davis.
Davis also added seven rebounds for the Tigers, who improved to 2-0 on the season. DeAndre Williams added 16 points and seven rebounds, and Jalen Duren had 14 points and nine rebounds.
UNLV fell to 1-4 on the season despite a 19-point performance from Kaleb Hunter. Donovan Williams added 18 points for the Rebels, and Bryce Hamilton had 11 points.
Memphis led by just four points at halftime, but the Tigers pulled away in the second half thanks to a 21-4 run. Davis had eight points and four assists during the run, and the Tigers never looked back.
The win was Memphis' first over UNLV since 2018. The Tigers will be back in action on Saturday when they host North Carolina Central. UNLV will return home to face Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Saturday.
