Nigeria’s Super Eagles soar to victory in AFCON qualifiers

Eguavoen’s men secure crucial wins against Benin and Rwanda

Super Eagles maintained their impressive form in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers, securing crucial victories against Benin and Rwanda.

The Super Eagles, led by interim coach Augustine Eguavoen, dominated both matches, showcasing their attacking prowess and defensive solidity.

In their first match against Benin, the Super Eagles took an early lead through a stunning strike from Kelechi Iheanacho. They maintained their advantage throughout the match, with Moses Simon adding a second goal to seal a comfortable 2-0 victory.

The Super Eagles continued their winning ways in their second match against Rwanda. Paul Onuachu opened the scoring in the first half, with Victor Osimhen adding a second after the break. Rwanda managed to pull one back late in the game, but the Super Eagles held on to secure a 2-1 victory.

These victories have solidified Nigeria's position at the top of their qualifying group. They now have six points from two matches, three points ahead of second-placed Benin. The Super Eagles will be looking to maintain their winning streak in their remaining qualifiers and secure their place in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
