Washington Commanders and rapper Wale team up to inspire kids at football camp
The Washington Commanders and rapper Wale teamed up to host a free youth football camp in Prince George's County, Maryland, on Saturday, July 23. The camp was open to boys and girls ages 6-14 and featured instruction from Commanders coaches and players, as well as Wale himself.
The camp was a huge success, with over 200 kids participating. The kids learned the fundamentals of football, including passing, catching, running, and tackling. They also got to meet and interact with their favorite Commanders players, including quarterback Carson Wentz, wide receiver Terry McLaurin, and defensive end Chase Young.
Wale was on hand to help out with the camp and to inspire the kids. He spoke to the kids about the importance of hard work, dedication, and teamwork. He also encouraged them to stay in school and to pursue their dreams.
The Commanders and Wale have a long history of working together to give back to the community. In 2020, they teamed up to launch the "Team Up for Change" initiative, which provides support to local organizations that are working to make a difference in the lives of children.
The youth football camp is just one example of the Commanders' commitment to giving back to the community. The team also supports a number of other initiatives, including the Commanders Charitable Foundation, which provides grants to local organizations that are working to improve the lives of children and families in the Washington, D.C., area.
