Tedesco: We will not be hoisting the white flag
Domenico Tedesco, the coach of RB Leipzig, says his team will not be hoisting the white flag in the Bundesliga title race despite being eight points behind leaders Bayern Munich.
Leipzig moved up to second place in the table with a 2-1 win over Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday, but they are still a long way behind Bayern, who have won their first 10 league games of the season.
However, Tedesco is confident that his team can still catch Bayern if they continue to play well.
"We are not giving up," he said. "We know that it will be difficult, but we believe in ourselves."
Leipzig have been in good form in recent weeks, winning four of their last five league games.
They will face a tough test of their title credentials when they travel to Borussia Dortmund next weekend.
Here are some of the key points from Tedesco's press conference:
- Leipzig are not giving up on the Bundesliga title race.
- Tedesco believes his team can still catch Bayern Munich.
- Leipzig have been in good form in recent weeks.
- They will face a tough test of their title credentials when they travel to Borussia Dortmund next weekend.
It remains to be seen whether Leipzig can sustain their good form and challenge Bayern for the title.
But Tedesco's comments suggest that they are not ready to throw in the towel just yet.
