Tedesco: "Will not hoist the white flag"
Domenico Tedesco sounded defiant
Despite RB Leipzig's 4-1 defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk
RB Leipzig coach Domenico Tedesco has vowed not to "hoist the white flag" despite the German team's 4-1 defeat at Shakhtar Donetsk in the Champions League on Wednesday.
The result leaves Leipzig with just one point from their first three Group F games and facing an uphill battle to reach the knockout stages.
However, Tedesco insisted that his team will not give up and will fight until the end.
"We will not hoist the white flag," he said. "We still have three games to go and we will give everything to qualify for the next round."
Leipzig's next Champions League game is at home to Real Madrid on October 25.
Meanwhile, Shakhtar's victory was their first in the Champions League this season and moved them up to second place in the group.
"This was a very important win for us," said Shakhtar coach Igor Jovicevic. "We played very well and deserved the victory.
"We are now in a good position in the group and we will fight to reach the knockout stages."
Shakhtar's next Champions League game is at home to Celtic on October 25.
