Wesley Koolhof's retirement plans: 'It would be great to retire Rafael Nadal'
The Dutchman is set to retire from professional tennis at the end of the season and is hoping to end his career on a high by winning a Grand Slam title.
Koolhof has been one of the most successful doubles players in the world in recent years, winning the French Open and Wimbledon titles in 2022. He is also a two-time Grand Slam finalist in mixed doubles.
The 34-year-old is now looking to add to his Grand Slam tally before he retires and has set his sights on winning the US Open.
"It would be a dream come true to win the US Open," Koolhof said. "It's the only Grand Slam that I haven't won yet, so it would be a great way to end my career."
Koolhof is also hoping to help the Netherlands win the Davis Cup for the first time. The Dutch have never won the tournament, but they reached the final in 2018.
"It would be amazing to win the Davis Cup with the Netherlands," Koolhof said. "It's one of the most prestigious tournaments in tennis, so it would be a great way to end my career."
