Large-scale fire under control

Firefighters managed to get the large-scale fire in the roof of a commercial building on the Hoofdweg in Capelle aan den IJssel under control on Monday evening.

No injuries

According to a spokesperson for the fire department, no one was injured in the fire.

Fire under control late Monday evening

The fire brigade received a report of the fire around 7 p.m. Monday evening. Several fire engines were dispatched to the scene.

Fire in roof of the building

The fire started in the roof of the building and quickly spread. The fire brigade had to work hard to prevent the fire from spreading to other parts of the building or to adjacent buildings.

No hazardous substances released

According to the fire department, no hazardous substances were released during the fire.

Investigation into the cause

The fire department is currently investigating the cause of the fire. The police have cordoned off the area around the building.
